Kota Kinabalu: The Lahad Datu Benteng Covid-19 cluster spiked by 62 cases including 30 foreigners on Tuesday, said the Ministry of Health.

Thirty-seven of the new cases were found in Lahad Datu and the remaining 25 in Tawau, effectively making the latter district also a red zone after Lahad Datu became one yesterday.

There are 212 pending test results in Tawau and 1,113 in Lahad Datu, raising the possibility that more positive cases will be found in the cluster spread over the two districts.

The cluster is under control because it is isolated from the public like previous immigration depot clusters in the country, assured the ministry.
