Kota Kinabalu: Sabah's Covid-19 cases jumped by 51 on Monday with 50 of them including 28 foreigners found in the Lahad Datu Benteng cluster and remaining one a severe acute respiratory infection case in the district, said the Ministry of Health.

There are now 66 positive cases in the cluster, 64 of them inmates and the remaining two a prisons officer and his/her relative.

The cluster is spread over two districts and consisted of 30 (45.5 percent) locals and 36 foreigners (54.5 percent).

Lahad Datu now has 50 cases and still has 33 individuals still awaiting their test results while Tawau has 16 cases with 738 pending test results.

The Ministry said the cluster spread because the lockups were crowded and physical distancing was hard to implement.
