Kota Kinabalu: Sabah registered a jump in its Covid-19 tally with nine new cases including seven local infections, data from the Ministry of Health showed Tuesday.

The latest local cases consisted of thee Malaysians and four foreigners while the two imported cases came from the Philippines.

The Ministry also announced a new group of infections called the Benteng cluster in Lahad Datu which had seven cases.

Sabah formed the bulk of today's cases with the other three cases recorded in Selangor and remaining two in Kedah.

The Ministry also announced another Covid-19 death, the second one in the Tawar cluster in Penang.

It urged people to avoid body contact, for example, fist, shoulder and feet-bumping which are alternatives to handshaking, apparently in response to politicians and leaders who have been fist-bumping in their events lately.
