IPOH: The woman who was pictured having a meal while wearing a pink tag on her wrist at an eatery in Meru Raya has been identified and is being treated at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, quoting a source, the 72-year-old woman tested positive for Covid-19 in her second test after 13 days of home quarantine and has been admitted to the hospital since July 17.

"She is being treated at the hospital along with her son, who also tested positive," the report said, adding that the volume of Covid-19 cases was low and the risk of infection was also low.

Sinar Harian said the woman had been ordered to undergo quarantine at home for 14 days after returning from abroad on July 4.

"The first test conducted was negative but she was needed to wear the tag as a person under surveillance (PUS) for Covid-19.

"The woman had breakfast at the cafe with her family who returned from Selangor on July 6 while the picture only surfaced recently," it said.

The report also quoted Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz confirming the incident while Perak Health Committee chairman Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud advised the public to always adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP), as the recovery movement control order was still in effect and the number of Covid-19 cases was still increasing.
