KOTA KINABALU: The trend in consumer spending begins to show a shift towards non-essential items as the nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO) entered its third week, Wednesday.

Rather than rushing to buy only food essentials such as rice, cooking oil and wheat flour, among others, customers have now started buying treats such as titbits and candies.
