Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government will announce a people-centric stimulus package tomorrow (Mar 25) as part efforts to ease the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak and global economic uncertainties, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Speaking to reporters after chairing a State Security Committee meeting (pic) at the State Administrative Centre, here, Tuesday, Shafie said he will make the announcement after a weekly State Cabinet meeting.

Shafie also announced a 92-percent compliance rate with the Movement Control Order in Sabah so far.

Apart from that, he said the barter trade between Sabah, the Philippines and Indonesia as well as the use of kumpits or traditional long boats will be suspended temporarily.

On Tabligh members arriving from a cancelled ijtimak or convention in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, Shafie said 26 members were known to have gone so far.

He said 17 of them were already placed under quarantine, including five who arrived Monday night.

Another nine members will be coming back to the State, he said, adding the actual number of those who went to Sulawesi was not known.
